It's Farmers Market Season in Downtown Battle Creek
It's official! The Battle Creek Farmers Market at Festival Market Square will open on Wednesday, May 6th.
COVID-19 protocols recommended by the CDC will be followed, including social distancing, hand-washing stations, and sanitizing. Until Michigan's Executive Order is lifted we will be selling food, personal hygiene and cleaning products. No plant sales are permitted at this time. Prepared food consumption onsite is prohibited but our vendors will offer their entire menu for take-away. Due to the restrictions there will be no live music, demonstrations, sampling or children's activities. We ask that children be left safely at home and that families limit visits to one family member. Pets are strongly discouraged.
Wednesday Market hours will be 9am to 2pm.
Friday Market hours will be 3 to 7pm.
Free 1 hour parking for farmers market customers is available in the Hamblin Avenue Ramp.
Food Truck Friday events are tentatively being planned for May 15, June 19, July 17, August 14.
The all new Festival Market Square opened in 2015 and is home to the Battle Creek Farmers Market Association on Wednesday 9-2 and Friday 3-7, from May through October.
Our vendors offer the best of Michigan grown fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, honey, maple syrup, flowers and more! They also offer a wide range of baked goods from bread, cookies, sweet breads, donuts, pies, soft pretzels, and hand pies to freshly prepared on site lunch items. We have vendors with cheese, coffee beans, granola, mustard, quiche, butter, and even gluten-free and sugar-free versions of your favorites. Our ready to eat food vendors bring and extensive list of offerings for you to enjoy, including pasties, tacos, burritos, tortas, tortilla chips and salsa, hot dogs, cookies, and Asian inspired items.
Parking is available for customers (including those needing Handicapped spaces) in the Hamblin Avenue Parking Ramp. One hour is free while visiting the farmers market. Additional parking is available in Riverwalk, across Jackson Street from the farmers market. Additional free parking is available at the parking lot in front of the Rink, on McCamly Street, just across from the Transportation Center. Please do not park in the Post Office spaces.
